The seven days
- Day 1. Join three subs. Read the rules out loud, once. Comment twice, no links.
- Days 2 to 4. Four to six comments a day, only on posts from the last six hours. Answer the question.
- Days 5 to 6. Same pace. If a comment is removed, do not argue. Move subs.
- Day 7. Still no link. You may describe what you built if someone asked what you use.
New accounts that jump from zero to a promotional post get caught by AutoMod and by people. The full version of this, with the failure cases, is on the warm-up guide at the root of the site. This page is the checklist.
What 'warm' looks like
The account can open its own profile while logged out. Comment karma is above the number the strictest of your three subs prints in the rules. You have at least one comment that got replies from people who are not you. If any of those is missing, you are not warm, you are impatient.
A karmito follows this pace on purpose. Caps, gaps, and a ban on links until the account clears the bar. You can do the same by hand. The mistake is doing it faster because a launch date moved.
What the mods are actually counting
AutoMod rules are local, and they are blunt. The usual gates are account age in days and comment karma, sometimes karma earned inside that sub and not somewhere else. A viral post in an unrelated meme sub does not satisfy a rule that says the karma has to come from here. Read the rule you are trying to clear and warm up in that sub, or accept that you will comment without links for longer.
Age is not something you can post your way into. An account created this morning cannot look old by Thursday. If a sub wants thirty days, your first month there is comments. Planning a launch into that sub on day three is a plan to be removed.
A comment that counts as warm-up
It answers the post. It is specific enough that it could not be pasted under a different title. It does not contain your domain, a shortened link, or the sentence 'I built a tool for this'. It is one thought, not a five-paragraph essay with headings. People who are warming an account over-write, because they are nervous. The nervous essay is what gets reported.
Four to six of those a day is plenty. Twenty comments in an hour, across ten subs, is the pattern that looks like a bot even when a human is typing. Space them. Touch the replies you get. An account that never comes back to its own threads looks rented.
The logged-out check, every few days
Log out or use a private window and open your profile. A healthy account is there. A shadowbanned one looks missing, while you, still logged in, can see every comment you made. That gap is the whole problem. If you only check while logged in, you will keep posting into a void and decide the copy was bad.
If the logged-out profile fails, stop. Do not make a second account in the same browser and repeat the week. The longer shadowban guide covers what to do next. Warm-up is how you avoid needing that guide. It is not a ritual you perform after the ban.
