Template

A reply that helps before it mentions you

Copy the shape, not the words. Reddit can smell a template that shows up in ten subs on the same day.

The shape

Example, for a thread asking how to stop two people replying to the same trial signup: say you moved the signup alert into one shared place and killed the personal inbox rule. Mention a product only if the thread is a tool thread. If it is a process thread, the product mention gets downvoted and the process advice would have been saved.

Karmy drafts in this shape and you edit the detail so it is yours. A draft you paste unchanged into every sub is how accounts get marked.

Filled examples

Thread: 'What are you using for onboarding email that does not feel like a sequence?' A value-first reply names the constraint first. 'We had one founder writing them by hand and missing day three. A three-email set, sent only after the user did the first action, beat a seven-email drip we copied from a blog.' The product name, if they asked for tools, comes after that, plus the case where it is the wrong fit: a team that needs a full marketing suite will outgrow it.

Thread: 'Two of us keep replying to the same trial.' Reply: 'We killed the personal inbox rule. One shared place, one owner for the day, the other person only jumps in if the first has not answered in an hour. The tool mattered less than the rule. The failures were all on days we both thought the other had it.' No link. They did not ask for a product. If you add one, you have turned a process thread into an ad and the useful part gets ignored.

Thread: 'Is X worth it versus doing it in a spreadsheet?' Reply with the week the spreadsheet broke, not with a feature list. 'It broke when two people edited the same row and a trial went cold for four days. Worth it once that happens every week. Not worth it if you are still the only person on the account.' That last sentence is what makes the comment trustworthy. A template that never names a no is a brochure.

What to delete before you post

Delete the greeting that explains who you are. Delete the line that says you are not trying to sell. People read that as the opposite. Delete any sentence you could paste under a different post without changing a noun. If the comment still makes sense, it is specific enough. If you had to leave your domain in to make it make sense, it is not ready, unless the thread asked for a link and your account clears the sub's rule.

Do not post the same filled example in three subs in one afternoon. Reddit can see a template that travels. Karmy can draft this shape. You still change the detail so it is yours, from a thing that happened, with a number or a day of the week. A draft you approve unchanged for a month is how a voice starts to look rented.

After it is up

Come back the same day. Answer the person who says the constraint does not match theirs. That second reply is often the one that gets saved. Do not edit the original into a longer pitch because the first version worked. Add the new point underneath, as a reply, so the history stays honest.

If it is removed, the template was not the problem. The room was, or the account was too new, or a word in the draft tripped AutoMod. Read the notice. The shadowban checks are a different failure, with no notice at all. Do not debug a removal by posting the comment again with two words swapped.
